Common questions.
Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If you can open a program and type a question, you can use DeskCommander. And if you'd like a hand, we'll set it up with you on a call.
Are my documents uploaded to the internet?
No. Your files stay on your computer. When you ask a question, only a few short passages related to it are sent so an answer can be written, and they are not stored.
How do I get a license key?
Book a call using the button on this page. We'll talk through what you need and email your key the same day. You paste it into the app the first time you open it.
Which kinds of files can it read?
PDFs, Word documents, text files, spreadsheets saved as CSV, and photos or scans of paper documents. Support for PowerPoint and Excel is coming soon.
Will it slow down my computer?
The first time, it takes a while to read through your folders, and you can keep working while it does. It also downloads about 1.3 GB of components on first launch. After that, it quietly keeps up with new and changed files.
Can I use it on more than one computer?
Yes. Each license covers a set number of computers, and we can add more whenever you need.
